Advent Yoga Sessions

Sliding-scale yoga+self-care sessions.

 

FAQ:

What’s the format? All sessions vary a bit in what they offer. Class 1 and 2 are flow based classes to begin and end with a restorative practice. Class 3 is a yin-restorative blend. Class 4 is all restorative. All classes are 1 hour and are a blend of reflection/soul care prompts and yoga.

What is the charge? Pay what you can, $5-$15 per class suggested. Paid venmo or PayPal at your convenience. Will I track you down if you don’t pay? Nope.. just an honor-based, pay as you can offering from me to you.

How religious/Christian are we talking? We will exploring the themes of the 4 weeks of Advent: Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy in an embodied and soulful way. My hope is for these Monday evenings to be comfortable and accessible for all- regardless of denominational background or experiences of religious trauma.

What’s the format? Once you sign up, you will receive an e-mail within 24 hours with the links for the videos and playlists. All classes were previously recorded with a separate playlist to play along with class if you desire


Additional Details:

  • What you’ll need: a yoga/exercise mat, a lightweight foldable blanket, a yoga bolster, couch cushion, or firm pillow (2 pillows in one pillow case can work great)

  • Wear your PJ’s or comfiest yoga clothes. Our time will be spent gently moving through some seated yoga postures- think stretching and resting!

  • If you journal, some find it helpful to have a journal nearby. A small candle or essential oil diffuser can also be a nice touch!

  • Please try and be in a quiet room and limit distractions and multitasking as much as possible.  If you can, let yourself be first for this hour.

  • I teach trauma-informed yoga and encourage you to notice your own body and learn to listen to what feels okay and well for you.  I will talk you through and demonstrate all postures and shapes taken in class. This is your yoga practice, and you are encouraged to move however you want and need.
